The Energy Assistance Program provides a yearly one-time financial grant to eligible low-income customers who are experiencing difficulty paying current arrears with their electricity or natural gas providers.
Staff will work with clients to ensure they meet the program’s criteria including:
- being a customer of Powerstream and/or Enbridge
- billing to be in applicant's name
- residing at the address for which there are arrears
- having a pre-tax income at or below Statistics Canada’s Low-Income Cut-off (LICO) plus 15%
- ability to sustain their utility costs after they receive assistance
