Oca Nera is a find. The new owners have decided to take a traditional Italian restaurant and gradually transform it, one menu at a time, into a unique culinary experience.
The decor is friendly and open, minimalist elegance in muted fall colours. There is seating for 40 in a space that could hold more, so it is ideal for celebrations, large and small, family and friends, or just one other.
The menu is best described as Italian fusion, adding a new dimension to the standards, using only the finest and freshest of ingredients. Chef Corrado is an innovator and a perfectionist, constantly looking at new ways to do traditional dishes, while creating new classics. The wine list is extensive and ever changing so there is always something new to try.
At Oca Nera they want you to feel relaxed and at home, so Walter and his staff take care of every detail. The atmosphere is urbane yet family friendly.
Located on the west side of Islington Ave, just a few blocks south of Langstaff and tucked away in a little plaza, it's a little hard to find. But if you want a new experience in fine dining, relaxed elegance with a flare for having a good time, then Oca Nera is worth the look.
